Foxtons Standard Tricks

I let myself be foxton-ed twice in a year. Last year we had an offer accepted on a property, got mortgage/solicitor (and fees) only to be told an offer had been received at the asking price. We didn't budge, and I just found out the property hasn't changed hands since we offered on it! I'll never found out what happened, but if they tell you a larger offer as been received, walk away.

Last month, I saw a flat in my block, valued at 100k over its real value (I checked other sold prices, nothing ever sold for that figure). Made a much lower offer, accepted, then they tried to do the same trick as last year, and I just felt sorry for myself for giving them another opportunity...

You're an idiot.

If you think they're lying, ask them for proof- they have to provide it as it's illegal to lie about it. You're just bitter as you can't afford the property you want. Try the Shetland Islands for a studio.

Also remember the agent

Also remember the agent does not get paid if the sale does not go through. So why then would they make up another offer??? Think about it silly!
