Seven months to repair my oven
It is now seven months to the day since I reported my oven broken to Foxtons.
The first person who was supposed to deal with it did nothing, despite several requests about what was going on. She left without telling anyone about what was needed. I only found out because her emails eventually bounced back.
The next person (four months later) seemed pleasant enough, but sent round contractors who clearly were blind. They couldn't see the fact that the window on the door was hanging off.
I ended up having to take time off work to show them the problem - guess what: they never showed up!
Next day, try again. They show up in 2 minutes they are suddenly able to see what the problem is ... but it can't be fixed.
Still still waiting.
Any sympathy from Foxtons? Not on your nelly. Just badly spelled emails talking about the rising cost of housing and mortgage rates (do they live in the same country as me?).

Eight months to repair our shower
We had a similar experience with Foxtons. We reported our shower door broken in December 2007. Despite numerous calls and emails to Foxtons (our property managers), some pathetic attempts were being made and promised but nothing was happening.
Our shower pretty much unusable during this time as the water was leaking everywhere but we had no choice. One morning I tripped on the broken door and hurt myself. Then finally a tradesman was sent (July 2008) but he dropped the new pane of glass, broke it and then disappeared for another week or so.
FINALLY the shower door is fixed, but it has been a very frustrating affair.
I heard the warnings about Foxtons but took no notice - well, to anyone who is considering using them - don't. All they care about is money and the whole experience from the beginning of our tenancy has been a nightmare.
