Foxton's one of the 100 most despised companies - OFFICIAL

So Foxton's is going to be named and shamed as one of the 100 my most despised companies in the UK.

to quote from the forthcoming article,

"have long been the epitome of garish new money" ....... staff are "lambs trying to be wolves, led by a corporate structure that puts money above".... "(names withheld) investigated for gross professional misconduct"...... "loaded with debt"....

So long suckers, what goes around comes around and it looks like your time of reckoning is coming soon!

You tossers better start queing at McDonalds for a job flipping burgers - it's all you thickos are fit for.

Interview at foxtons ....

Well, Yestarday I had an interview with good of Foxtons and feel that I to say this to someone.

If it wasn't bad enough that the interview process was brash and tastless, I asked two questions that cought them completely off gaurd. sadley, they were not complicated questions. Especially after they lectured the group of us on how important thier training is, to make sure everyone that works at foxtons understands how each part of the company operates. This ensures the best level of service possible bla bla bla.

My first question was, "Which Tenancy Depost holding scheme does Foxtons operate under?"

Answer: "oh, erm... i used to know, but i cant remember at the moment."

total waste of time dealing with this idiots

A real life experience with Fuckstons from Dulwich & Balham Office ... Before I narrowed my search for properties I have always started my search on a flashy  Foxtons website..until I've experienced the real Fuckstons story...

Tenancy Manager Interview

Hi

I just had an interview for a Tenancy Manager position at foxton's today, but after seeing all the comments on this site, is it worth working for them?

Will this position just end up  into the sales role with those long hours? The interview seemed a bit half-heart, and alrdy I felt every word they were saying was a lie and a trap. I just submitted a CV and the called instantly for an interview? Feels like they are desperate for people to me.

Cheers

what would foxtons do if we didnt pay the last months rent

We unfort used foxtons last year. We were overseas and rented a place in london. They lied about everything. Was supposed to be fully furnished, we arrived after 24 hour flight, no utensils, no nothing. When we tried to get out of our lease they said this was fine and wouldnt charge fees but couldnt possibly put this in an email so we trusted them, only to find out that they were planning on charging us the last 12 months commission.

We signed for a 12 month lease, then find out they changed this and made us sign a 18 month lease - we were overseas at the time.

Even though we have all this correspondance on email, they say they cant do anything as it is the lease that is legally bounding not the emails.

FOXTONS ARE CRAZY ASSHOLES

Just done rent through them... arrgggg they just drive me nuts... just do what the want. dont understand why one sign's a contract when the breach it themselfs.

Any advice if Foxtons breach contact ?

Have you ever dealt with this estate agent?

The estate agent being exposed here is just about the lowest of the low and deserves everything that comes his way!

Also loving the revenge aspect.

They don't negotiate nicely =(

I offered on a lovely new property in Canary Wharfs Pan Pensinsula, it was accepted and I was so happy. Then 3 weeks later when we went to get the keys from Foxtons, I asked if they could furnish it with all beech coloured stuff from Ikea and change the washing machine to a washer/dryer as there was a ban on people hanging clothes over the balcony which I didn't get told by Foxtons!!!

I didn't sign the contract and instead rented a caraven in Wales... can't fool me you Foxtons mugs!

Interview with Foxtons

I'm an unscrupulous money grabbing automaton who likes being brainwashed by Orewellian training and marketing into conning people

out of their hard earned cash.

I don't really care about anyone or anything as long as I get my commission and a free mobile phone with all the apps and shit.

I like to work hard and play hard and I'm way better than the average agent, that's why Foxtons want me.

But do I want to work for Foxtons?

Suggestions please....

When I started watching this, I thought it was a Foxtons training video

Breaking News. Foxtons debts called in by banks

Foxtons have sucessively failed to make interest payments on their loans. The vast majority shareholding is now held by the creditor banks who have control of Foxtons. There is some justice here in that "like attracts like" and the banks have all the time in the world to rue the day they ever heard of this  company.

What strikes me, and I hope every decent member of society as unjust, is the fact that this hideous outfit continue to trade despite having a negative balence sheet to the tune of £360,000,000.

Thinking of Letting - Watch Out

Foxtons Locked me out!!

From another agent's point of view

I have worked in the property business all my life, first in Estate Agency in the West Country for 8 years then abroad, in Timeshare and for a blue chip UK developer. I returned to the UK just over a year ago and pitched up in London to work for a fairly well known National chain. Whilst quite a lot has changed over the 15 years I have been away the business remains more or less how I left it although working in London is faster and predictably more aggressive.

Having only heard of Foxtons by way of an extremely damaging TV documentary a few years ago and of course by their very distictinctive marketing (cars, offices etc) I was prepared to keep an open mind on my new found "competition".

Foxtons aren't all bad...

I have to say that, having competed with Foxtons for numerous years in my High Street Estate Agency business there is much that they do that is to the benefit of their clients although it could be argued that that is a side-effect rather than a prime driver.

At the end of the day, people have a choice and if greed is the sole motivator when choosing an estate agent it should perhaps come as no surprise when that same greed bites you on the bum.

The only way to combat the bitten bum feeling is to investigate the alternatives fully and not just take the word of the first person/company that says what you want to hear or strokes your greego.

PROPERTY SELLERS/VENDORS... YOU MAY WANT TO INVESTIGATE AN ALTERNATIVE BY LOOKING AT http://www.onelondonproperty.com

Making BANK!

i think this website is a fantastic recruitment tool, I first heard about Foxtons when I walked past their office in Camden being nosy and have to say that after reading the various posts on here, "where do I sign?"

It strikes me as a company people gravitate to who wish to make serious money, people who aren't content with £30k a year.

Good luck to anyone working for them, it could be me one day!

Lower admin fee?

Has anyone been able to negotiate a lower admin fee than the astronomical fee (£376 I hear) Foxton's charge? I am going to look at some rental properties with Foxtons tonight but I have no intention of paying that much for essentially nothing. Other agents I've seen have either had no admin fee, or agreed to waive it (they just charge £50 or so for reference checking).

Thanks in advance,

Foxton's-wary prospective tenant

linking up with the new tenant of your previous property to try to get your deposit and to combine stories

Same old story. Long term let - over 4 years. Moved out early December, still no penny. Couple of missing items - agreed with landlord, all ok. But new things keep popping up, outside the checkout and suddenly need to be checked witht the new tennant.

I met up with the new tennant, combined stories and informed F*xtns. Quite shocking how they misinformed him as well. All kinds of verbal promises in order to rent it out, but no follow-up after signing up.

Foxtons flogging houseboat for 1 illl

Thisis a joke.

Foxtons are flogging a houseboat that was sailed from france and is now moored on the Thames for a million.

See:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8450534.stm

Ian Brownridge, an arsehole, is quoted as saying it is good value.

What a joke.

They removed the break clause from my contract

To say that Foxton's employee's are pushy is an understatement.  I was receieving several calls a day pushing me to sign a a contract (that they kept changing).

I'd say, give me 24 hours to read and sign, 2 hours later they woudl be on the phone to me, then 2 hours later and so on.

Any, this guy Hywel Kennedy from the Richmond branch looked me in the eye and said, here ios a standard contract, it's all standard stuff nothing out of the ordinary and said it was the same contract that they give to all of their tennants.

I read it anyway and just ignored all of his phone calls that day while i read it.

Without my agreement he had increased the term of the contract from 12 months to 18 months and removed the break clause!!

Dodgy lettings applicants

I recently received a full asking price offer from a very pushy girl at Foxtons called Sofia, South Kensington and was then passed to someone else to deal with the paperwork which came through the same day, including all the references and contract ready to sign and was told that the tenant was in the office and they wanted to get it all concluded right now.  Once I had looked at the paperwork, the documents titled bank reference - was actually a copy of a bank instruction being sent to the tenants account from overseas, the document titled employment record - was actually confirmation that the applicant is on a course until end of December!

Changed Contract

Dont ever sign a Contract with Foxtons without reading it from cover to cover even if their agent rings you and says sorry we have a few typing errors (only an hour later) and will have to send it to you again but to be honest its the same as last time, because it might have changes to the contract and the call from their agent will vanish from their Log

What’s the Role of an Attorney in Divorce Mediation?

You may decide to use an attorney even if you and your spouse have agreed to divorce mediation.  An attorney does have a very important role in your divorce even if you choose the mediation route. You may not desire your attorney to be sitting there in every session, but you should talk with an attorney before you decide on mediation.
