Oh God.
ps to above comment
you ALWAYS know when It's an employee writing something on here as they will throw in some useless brainwashed "statistical fact" about the company and/or have loads of spelling mistakes... I feel sorry for them but know in time they will see the light and realise what a mug they're being taken for!
Apologies the above comment
Apologies the above comment is in response to the intelligently titled "You're A Twat" posting on page 1..
My Foxtons experience...
More direct mail on the doormat, including another letter from an estate agent wanting to sell my flat for me. Thanks but no thanks. At least the letter, from Chestertons, was polite and friendly, apologising for the direct approach and setting out their stall in a pleasant, low-pressure way.
Much better than those dodgy geezers at Foxtons. A while ago I had a breezy voicemail on my mobile...Read more here: http://bridgetfox.wordpress.com/2008/02/26/agents-of-change/

Illegal activity
Do not use A Hall mortgage company an affiliation with foxtons (in the same headquarters)!!!
As a former employee and being in contact with some current employees. I know that personal mortgage files are handed over to the estate agents with bank details etc in. These are not supposed to leave the Mortgage brokers building.
This also means that the estate agent will know how how much you can afford! and push you up to 6x your salary. Do not be taken in by it!

Customer reviews
I found this site and the comprehensive reviews of Foxtons very helpful. They tallied with my own dreadful experience as a tenant:

I wish I knew !!!!!
The experience I have been haing with Foxtons is more than unpleasant !! They seduce you with their shinny offices and nice smile, but They only see you as a money bag. Once you signed with them, you f@$%d !!! They basicly harrass you, threathen you with legal pursuits, and on top of that they allow them selves to be rude to you !!
..and here Foxtons appears in the Times newspaper
..and lots more unhappy customers here...
The secret agent
Many bad comments about Foxtons here:
Estate agents comment on Foxtons sleaze
...and another hit by Foxtons..
Here's a good article by the Guardian
I especially like the quote from the owner of Foxtons:
"...buyer beware. If the buyer wants to take advice he should go off and ask someone else" - well at least he's honest about that.
These allogations were made by a BBC program:
- the use of faked documents to support inflated prices
- false offers put forward to sellers
- Foxtons-owned mortgage broker Alexander Hall would pass details of buyers' finances to the agents so they would know how far they could push them.
