Had an interview yesterday with Foxtons and Oh My God! i've never seen such operation. Its like something out a George Orwell book. Applyed for a job online on tues, got a call on weds for an interview on thursday....pretty quick but hey, maybe i called up at the right time when a position had just become available. Oh no. They just continuously hold these interviews. Was told before it would be a group interview so wasnt particulary looking forward to it. Got there 15 mins early and was transported up to the main offices straight away where virtually everyone else was already there. Strange, where they all even earlier than me? They place u at a table take ur i.d (passport, driving license etc) put a name tag on you and get you to fill in another form while they stand there, watching, listening and making notes of your interaction with the others on your table.
Next we taken along a series of corridors to a meeting room for a presentation where we were offered drinks including beer, so thoughtfully laid out in a ice bucket with a lime in the top. You'd be wise to stick to the water or the coke as its obviously just another test. Anyway the presentation was the usual bullshit about how successfull the company is, how much fun and money you will make being with such a market leading company. They showed us pictures of those dreadfull Foxton branded Mini Cooper cars the cut you up at junctions all over London and pictures of high end BMW's for the good sellers... blah blah blah yawn yawn yawn!!
After they had judged us proficiently we were told we would be able to have a one on one interview with a manager, we stood in the room in 3 groups until we got a tap on the shoulder to tell us we could be interviewed now. Some people who were deemed not good enough didnt get the shoulder tap....noticably the beer drinker didn't so be warned. Interview was fine, pretty much like any other interview, then we left, all a bit shocked at the whole operation. Got a call today saying would like to see me again but turned them down flat.
and after reading some of the posts on here i'm very glad i did
